🩺 Pre-Hair Transplant Care
❌ What to Avoid:
- 🍷☕🔥 Avoid alcohol, caffeine, energy drinks, red meat, nuts, fruits & vegetables, and spicy foods like saffron, cinnamon, and ginger before the procedure.
- 💊❌ Avoid aspirin for 1 week before surgery.
- 🧴🥦 Stop using supplements, multivitamins, and vitamins B & E 1 week before the procedure.
- 🍻🚫 No alcohol for 1 week before and 3 weeks after the transplant.
- 👕🚫 Avoid tight-collar clothing (like t-shirts or pullovers) for 10 days after the transplant to prevent pulling over the scalp.
- 🚿🧼 A full-body shower is mandatory the day before surgery, but only wash from the neck down during treatment days.
- 🚬❌ Avoid smoking and hookah for at least 1 week before the transplant.
- 🍽️💪 Eat a light but complete breakfast on the day of surgery.
- 🚗❌ Do not drive after the procedure — someone should accompany you.
- 📄📋 Bring all test results with you on the day of the surgery.
- ⏰🏥 Be on time at the clinic.
- 💍📵 Do not bring valuables to the clinic.
💉 During Hair Transplant Procedure
- 💊 Start taking antibiotics from Day 1 as per your prescription schedule.
- 💊 Your medications include:
- Ciprofloxacin every 12 hours
- Cephalexin every 6 hours
- Acetaminophen (as needed for pain)
- Cetirizine (for itching or burning)
- ⚠️❗ Do not take iron supplements while using antibiotics.
- 🚫🩹 Do not take any other painkillers unless prescribed by your doctor.
- 🖐️❌ If you feel itching or burning, take Cetirizine and avoid touching or scratching the head.
🛏️ Aftercare Instructions
💤 How to Sleep:
- Sleep as if you’re in surgery — on your back, using a neck pillow.
- Place 2 side pillows to prevent head movement.
- Avoid hitting your head.
- Swelling starts from Day 3: Apply cold compresses on the forehead for 15 mins, 3–4 times/day for 24 hours to reduce swelling.
🩹 Head Bandage:
- Remove the bandage the day after surgery. You won’t need it again.
🧴 Washing the Back of the Head (Donor Area):
- Use baby shampoo twice a day.
- Mix cleansing serum with water and spray it on the wounds.
- Clean the area, then apply Bacitracin ointment to the wounds.
🧼 Washing the Front (Recipient Area):
- From Day 5, create foam from baby shampoo and gently place it on the transplanted area.
- After 30 mins, rinse by spraying diluted cleansing serum.
- Repeat 2× daily for 7 days.
🧖♂️ Final Wash (Day 10 onward):
- Apply bitter almond oil on the transplanted area and massage gently for 30 minutes (don’t pull off scabs).
- Go to a steam bath and wash the head with low-pressure water and baby shampoo.
✅ Additional Tips for Optimal Recovery
- 🚶♂️💧 Walk daily (30–45 minutes) & stay hydrated during the first month.
- 🧢❌ No hats or head coverings on the transplanted area for 1 month.
- 🧪❌ Avoid hair dye, chemicals, and chlorinated pools for 6 months.
- ❤️🔥❌ Refrain from sexual activity during the healing period.
- 🏋️♂️🚫 Avoid lifting heavy items, hard exercise, or bending down for 1 month.
- Walking and cycling are OK.
- 🍂🧠 Shedding transplanted hair after 1 month is normal — the roots remain intact.
- 💥🧠 Scalp numbness is common. Don’t bump or touch the area unnecessarily.
- 🌫️🌧️ Stay away from smoke, pollution, dust, and rain in the first few days.
- 🔴❌ If pimples appear, do not pop or scratch them. Let them heal.
- 🤕🌀 Itching, numbness, tingling — all are normal and temporary.
- 💊✨ After 20 days, start taking prescribed supplements & vitamins to support hair growth.
